OutingList lists things to do in Atlanta: it reads public event listings, people post their own, and lists fill themselves by plain rules. This page says, in plain words, what we keep about you, why, and for how long.
What we keep
Your account. Sign-in is handled by Clerk. We keep your email address, the name you show, the line about you if you write one, your role on the site, and an account number. Your password, or your sign-in with another service, is kept by Clerk; we never see it.
What you do here. Your saved events, the lists you make and what is on them, the events you post, and the reports and flags you send, with when you did each. Public lists and posted events show on the site with the name you chose. A private event is seen only by you and the people you send its invite link.
What you send us to read. When you add an event from a link, a photo of a flyer, a few lines, or the iPhone Shortcut, we keep what you sent and the draft we read from it, seen only by you. A draft you leave alone for 30 days is deleted, with what you sent; a note that something arrived, and how, stays for our counts.
The iPhone Shortcut. "Send to OutingList" puts the link or text you shared into a link to OutingList and opens it in your browser. It sends nothing by itself and holds no key. Nothing is saved until you tap "Save to my drafts"; then we keep the link and the text as a draft only you can see.
Pictures. A picture you upload is kept so it can be shown with your event. For events we read from other sites, once a picture has been checked we keep a copy of it, so it shows even when its site will not send it to your browser. The copy is deleted a week after the event starts, or sooner if the event is gone or its picture changes.
Personal keys. If you make a key for a program of your own, we keep only a scrambled form of it, with when you made it and when it was last used.
Counting. To count how many people looked at or shared an event without counting anyone twice, we keep a scrambled stand-in for your internet address and the day. It cannot be turned back into the address, and it is deleted after a day. To keep the site from being flooded, we count how many things each account adds each day; those counts are deleted after a week.
Analytics. Cloudflare Web Analytics counts page views. It sets no cookie and does not follow you to other sites. We see totals (pages, countries, browsers), not people.
Server logs. Cloudflare, which runs the site, keeps a log of the requests it answered and of the site's own errors for a few days, so problems can be fixed and abuse stopped.
Events come from public listings
Most events here are read from public calendars and event pages, and each one links to where it was listed. The details belong to the people who posted them.
If an event of yours is listed and you want it corrected or taken down, email hello@outinglist.com and we will change it or remove it.
How we use it
To run the site: showing events, keeping your saved events and lists, and bringing you back to the page you were on after you sign in.
To suggest: what you save shapes the picks under For You. This happens inside OutingList only.
To keep the site working and fair: moderation, daily limits, and stopping spam.
Who else handles it
We do not sell your information, we do not share it with advertisers, and there are no ad trackers on the site.
The services that handle it for us are Cloudflare (hosting, the database, picture storage, analytics, and the language and vision models that read flyers, pages and pictures) and Clerk (sign-in). Each uses it only to provide its service to us.
If you open the map, your browser asks OpenStreetMap for the map's pictures, as any web map does. That tells them your internet address and the part of the map you look at.
Cookies
When you are signed in, a cookie keeps you signed in (Clerk sets its own for this). There are no advertising or tracking cookies.
Your choices and deleting your account
You can change the name you show and the line about you on your profile, and delete your lists and the events you posted at any time.
You can delete your account in Settings, under Your account. That removes what we hold about you, and your sign-in. Public events you posted stay on the list without your name unless you choose to take them down.
Children
OutingList is not meant for children under 13, and we do not knowingly keep their information.

When this page changes in a way that matters, the date at the top changes too.
